Sales & Customer Success
"Go After The Jobs You Want, Not Just Any Job"
Jason's Story
Jason has spent years in technology, mostly working from home. When he found Remote Rebellion, he was going after sales and customer success roles and getting nowhere. Applications disappeared, or came back two weeks later as a form response with nothing personal in it. No one ever told him what was wrong with his resume. He describes the process as bots talking to bots, with recruiters buried under thousands of applications a week.
He'd been applying every day for more than six months, and had looked at other programs before this one. Most were expensive, and the ones that apply to jobs for you and message hundreds of recruiters automatically didn't make sense to him. He wanted training in how to do it himself: how to reach out to a recruiter, how to build connections on LinkedIn, and why those connections matter.
That's what worked. The resume and LinkedIn sections put him on the radar, and the role he accepted came from a recruiter reaching out to him. He cut his application volume roughly in half and made each one count, following up and doing the research first. Interview prep helped. So did the salary negotiation training, which he used to negotiate his pay and get some travel written into the offer. He had his notes open during the conversations, and he'd talked it through with people in the community who'd been through the same thing.
Eight weeks into the 16-week program, he accepted an offer on a remote US role. He likes the company, the people, and the work, which is familiar but still a stretch. After months without a paycheck, he's looking forward to the structure.
He was nervous about spending money he didn't have, and says to do your due diligence and talk to people in the community before you decide. He knew he wasn't unhireable, he was missing something, and he thinks that's worth paying experts to fix.
