Human Resources & Talent Acquisition

Casey's Story

Casey had been chasing work-from-anywhere HR and talent acquisition roles for a long time before she found Remote Rebellion. Her corporate job was good. She just knew it wasn't where she wanted to build her life, and she had no real strategy for getting out, no time to build one while working full-time, and no idea how competitive the remote-first market had actually become.

She was also staying quiet about what she really wanted, afraid that saying it out loud might cost her the job she had. The moment that changed things came on a trip to Italy, sitting at her desk thinking "I don't want to go home." Not long after, she got laid off, and instead of derailing her, it gave her the push to go all in on Remote Rebellion.

The program rebuilt how she showed up professionally. She learned to brand herself and advocate for what she actually wanted, work that grew her LinkedIn following from around 6,000 to nearly 50,000. Where she'd been applying to the same 10-15 remote-first companies as everyone else, the program opened her up to hundreds of vetted companies plus a steady stream of jobs the team surfaced that she'd never have found on her own. More than anything, she walked away with a real job search strategy, one she still uses even now that she's placed.

She joined in fall 2024, right around the layoff, and spent the next few months heads-down on her search. By the end of January 2025 she had her first remote-first offer. After three years of digital nomading back and forth to the US, she moved to Barcelona at the end of July, settling into the life she'd wanted for a long time.

She's clear that none of it was handed to her. Remote Rebellion gave her the tools, the community, and the confidence to bet on herself, but she says the work still had to come from her.
