What does Remote Work Mean for YOU? 🤔
If someone had asked Lucia a while ago what remote work meant to her, she would have said remote what…?
Before the pandemic, Lucia used to work in an office from 7 to 4, and in the last few months, that meant an hour and a half commuting, so she could be with her daughter only after 5 pm when they were both tired. It wasn't ideal, right?
In January 2020, she decided to quit her job, but the timing was off as the Pandemic in March meant it was impossible for her to get a job with her little girl at home. They were very difficult moments but also moments of personal growth and understanding of what she wanted for her life and for her family. She really didn't want to go back to her old life, to an office, to a fixed schedule and to lose quality time with her family. It was not an option!
Fortunately last year she joined us here at Remote Rebellion and her life changed completely. She now works from wherever she chooses and can work hours around her family and has so much more time to spend with them.
Today, she has a very different answer to the question we asked her... ”what does remote work mean to you, Lucia?”
“It means a balance (not perfect but getting there) between my personal life and work that does not affect my family. I can be there for my daughters and still feel valued in a job doing great work. Here’s a photo of me working and taking care of her oldest daughter while she was sick. “
And for You? What does remote work mean? How would it change your life?
