It’s My Birthday. And I Have a Confession.

Hi, it’s Michelle.

I just turned 39. I celebrated in Bali, and as I was looking out at the view you see below.

I wasn’t thinking about the 39 lessons I’ve learned. I was thinking about the one BIG thing I wish I could go back and tell my 29-year-old self.

I’d recently quit my job as an agency recruiter. I hated the environment- all flashy suits, corporate BS and desperation to get on the next rung on the ladder. More money, more status (apparently).

I didn't want that life, always busy and only living for the weekend. I wanted peace, to be surrounded by water…for real freedom on how I spent my days. That voice was telling me, “There’s got to be more to life than this.” I ignored that voice. Instead, I listened to the voice that said, “SUCK IT UP! This is life as a grown-up! You’re supposed to save for a mortgage, this is just how things are if you want to be successful!”.

So I found another job as an in-house recruiter and suppressed these feelings for 5 years. In 2021, as the return to office started, I was doing what you're probably doing now: trying to find a "better job." I was looking for a role with more flexibility, more money, more freedom. But I was letting the job market dictate the shape of my life.

And here’s the brutal truth I wish I knew then:

"Finding a remote job" is the wrong goal.

It’s a trap that keeps you playing the same old game, just on a different field. You end up with a remote job that’s just as draining as your office job, only now your kitchen is your cubicle.

The real goal—the one that actually changes your life—is to design your ideal 'remote life' first, and then build a career that funds and supports it.

The game is not about fitting your life into a job. It's about fitting a job around the life YOU design!

The Manifesto in Action

This lesson is too important for a single newsletter. It’s the core of the entire Remote Rebellion philosophy.

So, to celebrate this turning point, I'm doing something I’ve never done before- I'm creating a special, one-time-only, 3-day live bootcamp called "The 39 Bootcamp: Find Your Freedom Abroad."

I'm going to personally guide a small, hand-selected group of 39 women over 30 through the exact process of designing their remote life and building the action plan to make it a reality. We'll be joined by recruiters hiring from remote companies and a move abroad expert who works specifically with women over 30!

Your Next Step

The 39 seats will be offered first (and likely only) to a private VIP waitlist. If you are a woman over 30 who wants to move abroad and have the freedom to work remotely, join us!

You'll be the first to get the full details and the application link when they are released.

They say the best time to take action was yesterday. The second best time is today!

Stay Rebellious,

Michelle
