  • Georgie Snape, is the owner of Teacher's Friend. She has a degree in Community Drama, a CELTA (Cambridge) teaching qualification and a qualification in training and assessment to allow her to be a TEFL teacher trainer. She’s been a TEFL teacher trainer for the past 4 years.

She’s been teaching and travelling the world for over ten years, even though she only intended to leave home for six months originally! She’s taught in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia and Indonesia. She currently lives a remote work life in Bali, Indonesia and travels often. Just this year she’s been to Sinapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and will visit Lombok in September!

She’s taught online and face to face, in schools and language centres, General English and Business English from beginner students to advanced.

She took over this business as the owner of Teacher’s Friend eight years ago because she wanted to share with others the amazing experience that she is having while teaching abroad. She wants to make it a fun, enjoyable and stress free process, and will offer you outstanding customer service.

She has reviews from paying, satisfied customers on partner sites, Go Overseas and Go Abroad as well as numerous references on websites such as What Kate and Kris did, Our Big Fat Travel Adventure, ESL expat, The Career Shifters and Freaking Nomads. She can put you in contact with other Teacher’s Friend teachers, who are delighted with the excellent friendship they have received from Georgie and her local team.

You can find her on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook or head to her website - Teacher’s Friend.

  • For the majority of teaching positions abroad (and in order to get a work permit for working legally) you will need to provide original copies of:

    • Your passport

    • Your degree (Unless teaching in a country that doesn’t require this)

    • Your 120-hour TEFL qualification which must be accredited from a recognised body

    • A police clearance check from your home country dated no later than six months previous.

    You may also need:

    • Your university transcript

    • Recent passport sized photos

It is best to get all of these documents notarised in your home country before you travel. It can be a costly process so make sure you include it in your budget!

You will also need to complete a medical check but this can easily be done in your chosen country.

Obviously, for working remotely, you just need the right visa!
