More on the topic…

Let’s start with something that rocked all our worlds, and not in a good way—the COVID-19 crisis. I think we can all agree it was more than just a health crisis. It became this massive collective pause button. Suddenly, we had time—so much time—to think. To sit with our thoughts and really ask ourselves some big questions. Am I happy with what I’m doing? Does my work make me feel fulfilled? Is there more to life than just grinding away for a paycheck? This was the moment when so many of us realized: we deserve better. We deserve flexibility, fulfillment, and, yes, maybe even some fun!

Fast forward, and here comes the email telling us to get back into the office. The reactions were… let’s just say mixed, at best. For some, it felt like being dragged back to a place we had outgrown. Why should we trade our cozy home offices and flexible routines for a commute that felt more like a slow march to nowhere? For many, that was the final straw—a call to action that maybe it was time to make the remote dream a reality for good.

On our podcast, we’ve dug deep into this journey. And yes we also talk about the birth of Remote Rebellion. It started with a simple realization: “There is more to life than work.” It’s that spark that fuels our mission, our vision, and our whole purpose as a community. We don’t just want you to land a remote job; we want you to live life on your terms. And the stories we share—like Jack’s journey from fitting kitchens to dominating SEO—are proof of what’s possible.

A big part of this journey? Building confidence. Trust me, you don’t just go from handling power drills to optimizing website traffic overnight without feeling some serious doubt. But Jack did it, and so can you. Confidence is built step-by-step, and it’s an essential part of making this lifestyle a reality.

So, here’s an immediate action tip for all of you: Take one step today that moves you closer to your remote work dream. Maybe it’s updating your LinkedIn. Maybe it’s taking that online course you’ve been eyeing. Or maybe it’s just reaching out to a mentor. Whatever it is, just start. The hardest part is always that first move—but I promise you, it’s worth it.
