No one is self-made, it takes a community to succeed.

This week I listened to the Daily Stoic podcast episode on “No one is self-made” and it struck a chord with me.

The episode highlighted Arnold Schwarzenegger's discussion on how his life story might be viewed as a classic example of the "self-made man". However, he disagrees with this notion and instead believes that no one achieves their goals alone. We are all indebted to the support and guidance of mentors, influencers, teachers, friends, and family members who shape our paths.

Each of us is a product of the collective influence of hundreds and thousands of people who impact our lives.

Thank you for your wisdom, Arnie!

Success in remote job search is certainly not achieved in isolation, it is the culmination of a collaborative effort involving countless individuals who contribute to your journey.

During this journey, it’s important to choose who you surround yourself with. More often than not, family and friends who are not searching for a remote job may find it hard to relate to what you are going through: the ups and downs, the uncertainties, the fear, the rejections, or even the excitement when you finally land an interview - they may be happy for you, but they will not be able to fully relate to the sense of achievement you feel.

And that is when a community of like-minded individuals going through the same process come in…

Being surrounded by other remote job seekers who can 100% relate to your situation allows you to share your experience and celebrate each other's wins. They can even provide advice from past experiences, introduce you to recruiters, offer valuable insights, and the list goes on and on…

We are all interconnected in our pursuit of remote opportunities, resonating with the collective sound of our surroundings.

Ultimately, we are a reflection of the support and guidance we receive from the countless people who shape our lives, underscoring the significance of community and collaboration in our remote job search journey.

So, let me ask you, wouldn't it be better if you could surround yourself with the emotional and practical support you need while navigating the competitive remote job search landscape?

YES! I WANT TO JOIN A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY!

Stay rebellious,

Michelle
