86% of companies will adopt a 4-day workweek 😲🎉

It’s halfway through the 6-month 4-day work week trial for 70 companies and over 3,000 employees in the UK. This is the largest 4-day work week trial ever to be conducted and follows a very successful trial by Iceland between 2015- 2019.

There isn’t a lot of information from the employees of the pilot and how they’re finding the 4-day week trial, but I can imagine most employees are happy with the new way of working!

So, after 3 months, what have companies had to say about it?

“88% of organisations say that the 4-day work week is working ‘well’ for their business at this stage in the trial.”

46% of respondents say their business productivity has ‘maintained around the same level’, while 34% report that it has ‘improved slightly’, and 15% say it has ‘improved significantly;

So I guess that leaves just 5% that said business productivity decreased…

One of the biggest measures of success is that 86% of respondents said they would be ‘extremely likely’ and or ‘likely’ to consider retaining the 4-day work week policy after the trial period.

Winner! The even better news is that once these companies see the benefit of the 4-day work week, if they’re not doing it already- they’ll surely reap even more benefits from offering fully remote too!

I’ll update you all in 3 months once the trial is complete.
